Recession Shoes!!!

Recession sucks for those of us who have a weakness for shopping!!!! I admit it I love beautiful garments, accessories, jewellery, and most of all shoes!!!! I have dedicated my life to the things that we layer on our bodies and have no regrets!!! This recession has really put a damper on purchasing these possible heirloom pieces, but I have found a solution!!! Though I take great pride in wearing things out until the are no longer recognizable as their previous selves, more often then not, I do not wear things enough. Usually I find a donation bin to deposit these former treasures, but I have found a new home for them....Peacock Boutique on 10th St NW. This little consignment boutique has been operating in Sunnyside since I was young, and is now under new management. Michelle is fabulous and friendly and has a great eye for beautiful pieces. I have not only made $ on my former favorite pieces, but have picked up some beauties for next to nothing as well! Check out these Fly Girl shoes I picked up for fall....$42!!!! Can you believe it? I KNOW!!!! I love them and considering what they go for new it felt like they made me $$$!!!! So next time you are cleaning out your closet, or feeling a need to buy something beautiful for yourself, go directly to Peacock Boutique not only will you be making/saving $ you can also feel good about not adding to the waste of the rag trade we all love!!!!

Coo-Coo Crazy!!!

So I went to Dick and Jane's on 17th to drop off my wares and they had even more great stuff then they had last time I was there!!! I couldn't leave behind the silhouette faux coo-coo this time, and it is now residing in my bedroom! It is silent, even with the pendulum, I will be back for the other styles for sure! Luckily my husband understands my coo-coo and watch collecting, he has a weakness for portable alarm clocks! I also picked up an adorable lunch bag, made out of recycled materials. I have been looking all over for a good lunch bag, my old one is dying, Dick and Jane's has a super cute deer one and a black and white skull version, they are great at $11 each!!!! Yay!!! I am sooo excited for this little shop, I am already planning to go back for the house warming tealights with images of houses and various appliances catching fire, they are the perfect gift!!!! Who loves shopping? I do!!!!!

Well the "Meat Bags" show at Collage Gallery is over... Thank You to all the fabulous people who came to see and buy them! It was soooo fun to be on the other side of the counter for once! So far they have shown in Japan, and Calgary...next stop is maybe Head Quarters in Montreal, or Utility in Halifax, or The Workshop in Ottawa. So many great indie boutiques, so little time!  This is a picture of the Bacon clutch sold to a fabulous artist here in Calgary! Check out www.lookscouldkillartboutique.com to see the collection!
